| We are pleased to announce our new Project Organics program. Ten percent of pre tax profits will be donated to non profit programs for the homeless. It will help employ many of our Nation's homeless in the growing organic industry. We will also work with local farmers who are already growing organics or who wish to convert their fields. This will help us to buy as many of our products as possible from the local community. The Health Food Hut is committed to sustainable agriculture and will always do our best to help save the planet.
Program highlights:
Donations will be used for
- Tractors, seeds and other equipment needed.
- Land leases to grow organic crops each year.
- Employing the homeless at an honest living wage.
- Educating the homeless program Directors about organics.
- Certification of the organic crops.
- Food and housing for the homeless and so much more.
At Harvest time, the Health Food Hut will buy all the organic produce for use in our restaurants.Any Produce not used by the Health Food Hut will be donated to the local food bank.
